Ashleigh wore Style 1045 Dress and 1063 Detachable Train from the Demetrios Collection
How did you meet your spouse?
Rob and I first met through friends at the college lawn. When we started talking I found out he was a Pom and I told him he should marry my sister who was living in the UK. As the day went on we started flirting and had some good banter and i quickly changed my mind on him marrying Jamie and wanted him for myself.
Tell us about your proposal
I opened the front door to a sea of rose petals and tea light candles lining the entrance way. He had my song " a thousand years" playing as I walked around the corner he was down on one knee with tea light candles in a heart shape around him.
Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "the one"?
My mum, sister, mother in law and I went to the bridal expo. We watched the fashion show and my sister and I fell in love with this beautiful train/ skirt that was attached to a dress one of the girls were wearing. I already had an appointment at Sposa Group the following Tuesday. When my mum sister and I arrive we started looking a few styles and I tried on a few. I picked out a dress to try which ended up being "the dress" I was told you get a feeling when you find "the dress" and I 100% did. My sister asked Marianna about the train we had seen at bridal expo and we tried it on with my dress and it was perfect! Although this wasn't the train that was designed to be worn with my Demetrios dress it added something so special! Marianna and the staff at the Melbourne store were amazing. The day before my wedding my train wasn't sitting correctly and without me knowing my mum had rang them and they got her to come to the store with my train/skirt to make sure it was steamed correctly so it sat perfect.
Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day
My wedding was everything I could have ever asked for! I have way too many highlights from our day. I had the most beautiful venue the most amazing vendors. Marrying Rob seeing him at the end of the aisle & being able to call him my husband was definitely.
Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
For future brides I would say once you make a decision on something whether it be your colour scheme or your flower choice unfollow those pages on your social media! No one needs to second guess. Also, remember the vendor knows best! They work in their industry for a reason. I let my vendors make the final decisions because they know what works or what looks best. Let me tell you none of them disappointed me and I was so relaxed on my wedding day because of this. My bridal party named me "bridechiller".
