How did you meet your spouse?
Nader and I met about 10 years ago when we were kids! We were talking a lot and we’re best friends, but our lives went in total opposite directions. Nader added me on Facebook in June 2019 and ever since then we haven’t been apart.
Tell us about your proposal
I am a huge lover of Disney! Nader bought me VIP tickets to Disney on Ice because it came on tv as an ad and my parents took me right up until I was 10! He proposed to me in front of Rod Laver, in front of Mickey and Minnie, and with tears in his eyes asked me “to be his wife?” Of course, I said yes!
Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "The One"?
My cousin found her dream dress at the same store and I was her bridesmaid. So when I was looking I went to a couple other stores, but nothing was better than Sposa. Amazing staff, amazing seamstress, amazing everything!
I knew I wanted a fitted dress, as I have lost 50kgs I wanted something to show my figure. My mum picked one and I said no way that’s not very nice. I put it on and I fell in love with it, which goes to show mums always right. Mum and I cried our eyes out when I tried it on and I instantly knew it was the one.
Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day.
I walked down the aisle and my dad handed me to Nader who looked at me and said, “you are so breathtaking, I love you so much.”
Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
Just try and have fun with it! Don’t let it stress you out! When you get to your big day, just take it all in as it really does go by in a blink!
