How did you meet your spouse?
We met about 10 years ago through mutual friends, but we were dating other people at the time. So we placed each other firmly in the friend zone category. In 2021 we reconnected at Dave’s birthday party and things felt very different … there was a new spark there which turned into something quite wonderful!
Tell us about your proposal
Dave took me out for a fancy date night at a local posh restaurant and popped the question quietly over dessert… he knows how much of a sweet tooth I am - I said yes immediately of course! So no big song and dance - just the most personal question asked in a private and personal way. It was very romantic and everything I could have wanted.
Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "The One"?
I hunted all over town for the right dress - from Geelong through to Boronia… and of course countless hours on the internet…I had narrowed it down to two gowns from different boutiques - I decided less on the dress (both were beautiful) - but more on the experience and service I had at The Sposa Group. I knew they had my back through the whole process from ordering through to alterations and that made the decision easy.
Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day.
My wedding day was absolutely perfect - we had a wonderful venue and a wonderful time. Even the weather was perfect for a May wedding in Melbourne! The highlight was fixing eyes on my fiancé as I walked down the aisle - especially as I hadn’t seen him since the night before - the wave of emotion was like nothing I have ever experienced before. The other highlight was wowing everyone with our first dance.
Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
The best thing we did was to take some time out for ourselves between the ceremony and the reception. After the photos were mainly done we set up a little picnic by the lake and just stopped to take it all in. So that would be my recommendation… be sure to schedule some time for yourselves without the pressure of posing for photos or dealing with guests.
