How did you meet your spouse?
Louis and I are teenage sweethearts! We lived down the road from each other and when I was sixteen and Louis was seventeen, he asked me out on a date to the movies and the rest is history!
Tell us about your proposal
My proposal was so incredibly romantic! Knowing that Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year, Louis proposed to me on one of the most magical nights - Christmas Eve 2021. Whilst we were out to dinner, my siblings were inside our house setting up all of the decorations that Louis had organised for the proposal. When I walked into my living room, I was absolutely blown away! In front of me were roses, candles, fairy lights, chocolates, champagne and best of all - the words "MARRY ME" in big balloons and I turned around to find Louis down on one knee! It was amazing!
Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "The One"?
My wedding dress was absolutely perfect. Having watched nearly every single episode of 'Say Yes to The Dress', I was so excited to finally find my very own dream dress. After visiting four or five stores and not finding "The One", I started to become frustrated. However, from the moment I stepped into The Sposa Group in Hawthorn, I knew that I'd find my gown. The atmosphere in the store was amazing! Marianna was the most incredible stylist and made me feel so comfortable, relaxed and happy. Even when my initial appointment ran overtime, we didn't feel rushed and were encouraged to keep trying on dresses! The last dress I tried on was style 8110 and it was everything I was looking for - elegant, timeless, romantic and I felt beautiful. I started to cry and knew instantly that this was my dress!
Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day.
The highlight from my wedding day was walking down the aisle and seeing my fiancé - who instantly started crying when he saw me! We were both filled with so much love and happiness, and getting to marry my best friend in front of all of our closest family and friends was the most magical feeling in the world!
Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
My advice to couples currently planning their wedding would be to stagger each part of the planning process! Don't try and do everything at once as it can become overwhelming. I loved creating lists and checking off tasks once complete, whilst also spreading out the tasks evenly throughout the wedding planning. But most importantly - have fun and enjoy every moment!
Also, the best piece of advice I received for the "big day" was to take as many mental pictures as you can! The day goes incredibly fast, so remember to take the time to stop, look around you, smile and soak it all in!
