Linna & Georg

Linna wore the Amy gown by Dylan Parienty

How did you meet your spouse?
We met in Melbourne at the Melbourne Park tennis courts during a tennis social class on January 3rd, 2021. We would like to thank our mutual friends who invited both of us - without them, we wouldn’t have met.

Tell us about your proposal
On our third anniversary, a year ago, Georg sent Linna a very suspicious text message! He told her to come home at exactly 5:15pm so they would have enough time to change and walk to a Japanese restaurant for their dinner reservation. A little backstory - Georg never tells Linna to come home early from work. He never rushes her. So, naturally, the
message raised some suspicions. Linna decided to leave work slightly earlier than planned, but little did she know, she was five minutes too early! Georg hadn't had enough time to change into his suit after work.
When Linna walked in, she was greeted by roses on the coffee table and Georg’s noticeably nervous energy, which made her even more suspicious. She had always envisioned a simple and intimate proposal - just the two of them - and at that moment, that’s exactly what it felt like.

Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "The One"?
I was in Singapore when I first saw Dylan Parienty’s Amy dress. It was one of the first bridal gowns I tried on, and I instantly knew it would be hard to beat. Since then, I tried on a few other dresses - some different, some similar to Amy - but nothing came close. I knew I had to have it. I googled and found it on The Sposa Group website, contacted them, had the sample dress sent from Sydney to Melbourne to try it on, and that’s where it all unfolded…

Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day.
It was a beautiful day on a private property at The Lakehouse Folk in Maleny. My favourite movie of all time is The Notebook, and I always knew that when it was my turn to get married, I’d want to be married by a lake.
We had fewer than 15 guests, making it intimate, and everything went exactly to plan. I felt so beautiful and comfortable in my dress the entire day. My favourite moment was walking down the aisle and seeing Georg’s reaction. Let’s just say he was completely stunned - he’s not a man of many words, but in that moment he could only say, “You look so beautiful… you look so gorgeous,” twice in a row.

Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
Get your soon-to-be husband involved in the planning! I cannot emphasise enough how helpful it is when both partners share the load. Having him involved not only makes the process smoother and less stressful, but it also makes the day feel more meaningful for both of you.
