How did you meet your spouse?
Omid and I met through work during Covid, when he was in London. We started our long distance relationship while I was living in Melbourne, and we fell in love shortly after! We decided to go Europe together and visited Barcelona, Florence and Venice as soon as Australia's borders opened after Covid. Omid proposed while we were having breakfast in Venice - the city of love. It was magical!

Tell us about your proposal
Omid proposed while we were having our first breakfast at this cute historic hotel in Venice called Ponte Del Sospiri. We were listening to a romantic Italian song while looking at the Bridge of Sighs and the Grand Canal when Omid asked me to dance with him. I was a bit surprised as I was still a bit sleepy (haha!), but went with it and we started dancing and singing together. Then he showed me the ring which he was hiding behind his back, and asked me to marry him. And I SAID YES!

Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "The One"?
Believe it or not, since I started thinking about our wedding and my wedding dress - I had this exact dress in mind but I didn't know where to find it. I have seen images on Pinterest and Google, but didn't know which bridal shop in Melbourne to check out. I was still exploring when my friend who is also getting married this year recommended The Sposa Group to me. She believed they would have what I was looking for. So I booked a time to see a Bridal Stylist at Sposa and she knew exactly what I wanted. She showed me a few dresses and just by looking at one of the dresses I knew it was The One! I tried it on and it was just perfect..my dream dress. The dress only needed a bit of alterations and the alterations team at The Sposa Group helped me with making it perfect. A big thanks to everyone!!

Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day.
Our wedding was a destination wedding in Cesme, Turkey. Omid and I both love small beach towns that's why we chose Cesme for our wedding. We had all our family and friends from around the world at the wedding, and celebrated with a traditional Persian ceremony at the start, followed by partying and dancing. It was just perfect. I felt so pretty in my wedding dress, and we danced the night away!!
Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
Enjoy the process and all the excitement and ups and downs that come with it - do what makes you happy!
