How did you meet your spouse?
We are both Tenpin bowlers and got to know each other during league bowling and tournaments.

Tell us about your proposal
After 9 years together we went to Hong Kong and Disneyland. He had planned on proposing in front of the castle but it was under renovations, so he was trying to find somewhere else to propose, however In my excitement I never stopped long enough for him to propose! So while we were waiting on a park bench for the disney cars night parade to come through he mentioned that he had something for me but I never gave him the chance to show me. Eventually I asked and he shows me my ring so I’m like "are you gonna ask me?" And the rest is history.

Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "The One"?
I went to two other stores and had a dress that was the “I’ll come back to this if I can’t find anything else”. I searched online and looked up everyone’s recommendations on the Melbourne Brides Facebook page and when I looked on Sposa’s website I saw a dress on sale 50% off. I’m like it’s a 16 but we’ll see how much it’ll fit me as I was still in the process of loosing weight due to WLS and was an 18 at the time of looking for the dress. I tried it on and instantly loved it. My sister and mum could see the look on my face. I tried another 5 dresses on and still went back to this dress. I was advised at the time that I might need another back piece as it wasn’t covering my back properly and more fabric for the corset to tie up. But I asked to wait until my fitting as it would fit better by then. And wasn’t it amazing to come back to my fitting day and not need any extra fabric as it fit wonderful. Even more again on my wedding day!

Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day.
The dress was perfect. As I had custom converse shoes I didn’t have to worry about heels and ran and jumped and danced in this dress all afternoon and night. The corset held me in so well and I’m an 18GG and didn’t need a bra! I felt amazing and looked amazing in it. It was not uncomfortable at any point. I loved my dress.

Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
You can find a dress within your budget if you look around enough. I browsed website after website and looked for dresses in my price range. I didn’t want to go over $3k. So snapping this dress up for $1500 was a steal!
