How did you meet your spouse?
A mutual friend suggested that we should message each other in early 2019. Lucas messaged me on Facebook one day and we got talking. When we met for the first time, we got along so well, and talked until they closed the restaurant.
Tell us about your proposal
We were going on our annual hot springs holiday to Warrnambool in June 2022, and I slept the entire car ride there. When we got in, I went into the apartment to video call my parents and show them around, whilst Lucas was left to bring up the bags. I was sitting on the couch and he came up to me and asked me to give him my phone as he wanted to say something to my parents. He sat the phone upright on the couch next to us, and knelt in front of me. At this stage I still had no idea what was going on. He held out the ring in front of me, and it took me a few seconds to realise what was happening. By time I realised, I responded with "NOOOOOOO" out of shock that it was finally happening. He then asked me to marry him, to which I said yes!
Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "The One"?
My desires for my wedding dress were to be big, sparkly, and I wanted the princess look. My consultant Amelia nailed it! It was the second dress I tried on, and when I saw how sparkly it was, I knew it was the one.
Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day.
Watching Lucas's reaction as I walked down the aisle towards him was such a special feeling, especially being surrounded by all our loved ones. Our venue was beautiful, with the wisteria canopy in full bloom for the ceremony, it felt so magical. Another highlight was having our gorgeous dog be our flower girl for the ceremony!
Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
There is such a big build up to your wedding day, and then the day goes so fast. Make sure you take a few minutes out of the day to just be with your partner and enjoy it amongst yourselves. These will be memories you will cherish forever.
