How did you meet your spouse?
We met outside of a club! Both of us were single and I thought he was super cute. He was a friend of a friend so I asked if he was single, only to be warned that he had just gotten out of a relationship. Some time throughout the night, we chatted and I disappeared. 2-3 mornings later, I added him on Facebook. We had our first date and the rest is history.
Tell us about your proposal
We planned a family trip to Vietnam because my mother had not been back since before the war and my family hadn't travelled together in a long time. Little did I know, Liang had been planning to propose with the ring stashed in the bottom of his bag the whole trip. We were in the mountains of Sapa when he got down on one knee after convincing me we were just going to take some photos with the mountains in the background. My initial reaction was to swear like a sailor and forget to say yes.
Tell us about your wedding dress. How was your experience when you were searching for "The One"?
I never imagined I would pick the dress I did, it was very different from what I imagined. I initially thought I would go with something more fitted but as soon as I put the Demetrios dress on, everyone that went shopping with me that day dropped their jaw or cried. That was my "this is the one" moment and I felt like an absolute queen in the dress.
Describe a favourite highlight or two from your wedding day.
My wedding day with so much fun! A big party where you can have all your loved ones in one room celebrating the two of you. I would have to say my favourite parts were the food and activities (e.g. mini golf, photobooth etc.). Also my bridesmaids, the wedding would not have been what it was without them. If anything had gone wrong that day, I still don't know about.
Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?
It's your day and you only do it once, so have the time of your life. Enjoy it and don't stress about anything. Nothing will ever go 100% right, so try not to worry and have fun!
